Belize Zoo Day Tour
“Wildlife Sanctuary”
Venture to the Belize Zoo which boost to be the first of its kind, where all its wild life are in there natural habits; a place that brings guest to fell as if they’re the ones on display. First, drive thru the narrow streets of the city of Belize and then on to the western highway for 29 miles to the sacred grounds of the Belize zoo: Where powerful deities of the Mayas such as the jaguar, crocodile, snakes and macaws still reside amongst us today.
A unique feature of this small zoo compared to others around the world is that the animals are all indigenous to the country. Founded by an American citizen in 1983, it is also a rehabilitation and educational research center for wildlife today. Take the opportunity of an up close experience with the protected animals of Belize.
+ Cave Tubing at Cave Branch
As home to the largest cave system in the entirety of Central America, a visit to Belize feels incomplete without at least one adventure below the earth. Why exhaust yourself on an arduous hike through a cave system when you can enjoy a leisurely float through the area’s most impressive structures carved from the limestone over centuries by the very river you’ll travel by?
In the far past, Belize was a broad, shallow sea where the conditions for limestone creation were perfect. Eventually, the Maya Mountains formed, pushing this limestone upward above sea level. Water flowing down from the mountains then slowly dissolved the limestone, creating the breathtaking caves that captured the adulation of the Mayans much in the same way it does to us today.
